The Program

This 12-week training experience is designed to help you enjoy a summer of guided, intentional training alongside a supportive run community.

Do any of these sound like you?

  • You’ve always thought about aiming for a half marathon, but you just felt uncertain you could do it… not sure about what training plan to follow, or whether you’d have the time to stick with the plan.

  • You’ve completed races in the past, but it’s been a few years since you’ve made it to a starting line.

  • You run races on a regular basis, but would love the support of a coach + a team to make the training more fun!

Whether this is your first 13.1, or you’re taking aim at your next strong finish, this is the Team for you!

Do I really need a coach, a team?

Training for an event can feel complex when you’re trying to figure it all out on your own.

How much running? How fast should I go? How many days each week?

What if I start to have pain?… Or my legs are sore for multiple days in a row?

What if I miss a workout, or a whole week?!

Team True Stride 13.1 is here to not only take away the guesswork, but provide a clear training path, so you can focus on showing up and enjoying your runs.

We’ll be building the physical and mental skills that support strong and sustainable running.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Run Coach, I develop training that respects how the body adapts to challenging workloads. That adaptation is not simply a physical process. Expect to grow in confidence and self trust through the process, and have some fun along the way!


Am I Ready?
  • This program is set up so that you can select your own pace per run- you’ll be guided by effort targets. This style of training applies to varying levels of runner experience.

  • Since this is a just a 12-week plan to get you prepared for a half marathon, having some training mileage in place ahead of program start is highly recommended.

    • To get prepared for a safe and effective program, recent running or run/walk targets by June 1:

      • Total weekly run or run/walk mileage: up to 12-15 miles

      • Longest single run or run/walk: up to 5-6 miles

Program Structure

Within the 📲True Stride Training App you’ll find a 12-week training plan that offers flexibility to help you not only get half marathon ready, but keep you from feeling overwhelmed in the process.

🗓️Included in the typical weekly structure:

  • 3-5 runs per week (based on experience level)

    • Easy effort runs

    • Options for a quality session: hills, tempo runs, or intervals

    • A long run

  • A 15-minute mobility session to help you wind down each week and refocus for the week ahead

  • Suggestions for cross training and strength training to keep you feeling fit while reducing injury risk

  • Weekly run education or performance mindset tips to guide you through the program while bolstering your athletic confidence and self-belief

  • Team communication and updates provided seamlessly within the app

The plan will help you run a little farther each week with just enough step-back weeks to help your body adapt and get stronger.
